The new movement is not just a passing fad, baby boomers are now empty nesters. Combine that with a slumping economy and the trend has real appeal.

The new 156 unit project is in its third phase and has been a success so far. The low density layout combined with energy efficient living has made the project a hit. Add in the fact there are no city taxes , wood decks, lots of green space and low homeowners dues seem to add to the appeal. If you are looking to relocate due to military orders or to be closer to the beach, give us a look.

Please call Ashley Melton 910.539.5600 with any further questions.

Annual event held in Swansboro NC

The town of Swansboro held it annual mullet festival. The weather cooperated for the event being held in its 55th year. The streets were filled with people, tents, food and activities. The music could be heard from blocks and the intracoastal waterway filled with boats.

The festival started over fifty years ago as a celebration for the bridge across the white oak river. At the festival you can order mullet grilled, fried, smoked, stewed etc. and see tons of arts and crafts. Although rain drops were felt throughout the weekend, they did not keep local or tourists form enjoying parade, bands, dancing and food. This years festival proved to be yet another success.

The property is located along Hammocks Beach Road , directly accross form the intersection of hwy 24. The intesection encompasses a new walgreens, hardees gas station , bank and other retail shops.

The vision of Ward Farm developers is to create a sea side community that resembles downtown Swansboro or one you may find in Charleston South, Carolina. The layout features 12 acres of commercial and 50 residential building lots. The site will eventually portray the quaint communtity, with downtown shops and restaurants seen in a village atmosphere.

The northeast property boundary is about 1/4 mile from historic swansboro, close to beautiful Emerald Isle and located on 1/2 mile from Hammocks Beach state park. The development group is actively seeking interested parties to bring a hotel to the site as well as a restaurant. Potential buyers or investors should call Ashley Melton (910.539.5600) or visit wardshore.com.

Ward Shore Builders recently finished a beautiful project on Emerald Isle in Eastern North Carolina. The project featured a pool, elevator, three story deck along with 1000 square feet of additional heated space. The homeowner chose to replace all windows in the house along with revamping all electrical and paint.

The first level of the home was below grade and a product called hydro-stop which was used to keep moisture and unwanted water out. The septic system was moved from the back yard to make room for the pool and be adjacent to the first level bedroom. L.B. Page and sons removed the tank, cut the conctete driveway and replaced the tank just inside the ocean side setback.

As the interior construction started, much detail had to be placed in running the new sewer lines embedded in the existing concrete. Once established the non-load bearing walls for the first level were placed. The second level was placed on a new concrete slab and the third level was engineered with a cantileiver to allow the elevator to drop off at the top level.

At last all siding was replaced form vinyl to hardy. The last addition was the fresh paint and the makeover was remarkable.
