Fishing in Swansboro NC

October 28, 2008 – 1:56 pm

If you have traveled across the bridges that link Onslow and Carteret county lately you may have noticed all the boats that are anchored.  These fishermen are gathered in the fall tradition of spot fishing.  The weather has participated by bringing fall temperatures in and allowing everyone to have fall fever.  Meanwhile, the trout are being pursued by fishermen in creeks and inlets.  These hobbyists are trying to find the right spot before the local trout tournament.  It has become an adventure for boats traveling along the Intracoastal Waterway to maneuver around the local boats searching for the much sought after spots.

These fall temperatures not only increase the fish, but also the sales at the local marinas — Dudley’s Marina and Casper’s Marina.  Half of the fun in visiting these marinas is to shop, while the rest is in hearing and participating in the fish tales.  If you get a chance to visit our wonderful and quaint seaside village, don’t forget your fishing poles.
