New Townhomes in Hubert NC meet Energy Star Standards
October 14, 2009 – 12:16 pmThe new Townhomes being constructed near the back gate of Camp Lejeune meet Energy Star standards. Energy star homes must meet the guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection agency. These homes are 15% more efficient than homes built to 2004 international building code and include energy saving tips that make them 20 to 30% than standard homes.
Energy star homes include a variety of energy efficient features that contribute to the program: effective insulation, high performance windows, tight duct work and construction, efficient heating and cooling system, and efficient products. A third party verification called Energy home raters conduct onsite testing to verify the energy efficient measures.
Section A at Raymonds Landing is an Energy star neighborhood. Each of the twelve townhome units received the certification and meet the energy star standards. Section B which is under construction by Ward Shore Builders is underway and continues to follow the energy star guidelines.
